More about the Saab 2000
The Saab 2000 began production in 1988, with the first aircraft delivered in 1992. During its 7 year production life cycle, Saab delivered 63 of the 50 seat aircraft to primarily European operators. As of today 33 Saab 2000 aircraft are still in operation in 4 airlines across Europe. The Saab 2000 never saw the success of its predecessor the Saab 340, primarily due to the introduction of the 50 and 70 seat jet regional aircraft that gradually took over the majority of regional fleets in the late 90's to present day.

Key Features of the Saab 2000
The Saab 2000 improved a few of the design features of the Saab 340, however apart from a stretched fuselage and wingspan, the overall design was the same. The Saab 2000 did have some improvements to its cabin noise profile, mainly by repositioning the engines further away from the cabin. The Saab 2000 has an interior comparable to that of the Brasilia EMB-120 with three abreast seating, and a forward lavatory.
Capabilities of the Saab 2000
Intended to be an improvement over its popular Saab 340 aircraft, the Saab 340 was considered to be extremely fast relative to its competitors in its class. With a top speed of 413 miles per hours, and a cruising altitude of 31,000, it offers jet like performance and speeds and turboprop prices, and is a great alternative to those looking to sacrifice a small amount of performance, for the economical enhancements that a turboprop has to offer.
