History
Bombardier Inc was founded in1942 by Joseph-Armand Bombardier, a Canadian innovator and entrepreneur. Besides founding Bombardier Inc., he is also famous for inventing the modern snowmobile. Since the 1980s, Bombardier has had a history of absorbing struggling companies and converting them into profitable extensions of their enterprise. The most notable acquisitions are the famed Canadair and Learjet companies, which are now both pivotal parts of the Bombardier brand name. As a whole, the aerospace division of Bombardier Inc. has been incredibly successful, and currently brings in over half the company's revenue. Learn more about the history of Bombardier on Wikipedia.
Diversity
Bombardier has successful representatives in multiple categories of aircraft including business jets of all sizes, commercial jets, and turboprops. In the business jet category, Bombardier has produced nearly two dozen different models, ranging from very small to very large. The company's famous Learjet line includes some of the most commonly used light jets in the world. The Challenger line includes the company's transcontinental midsize models. Lastly, the Global line is Bombardier's large cabin, ultra-long range large jet entry, which as of right now has five different variants.
